Growing Up Fast

It is hard to believe, but Julian will be two years old on January 3rd.
We took him to the mall for a professional photo. Mom and
dad were the main attraction trying to get him to smile
while shoppers looked on.
Julian was the only one who didn't think Mom and Dad were funny.

Yup, We Are at that Stage

Potty training time. It came with a book and a video.
He's actually doing very well with it and we have a hard
time getting him off of the potty and back into his clothes.
Makes for fun conversation when guests come over.
Julian, how about we move this into the bathroom...

More Bed Time Fun

Lookin' up to my big sister!

Halloween 2010

Punkin' Man at the punkin' patch!

When is it Daddy's turn for a ride?

Guess what I dressed up as?

Rowrr! Little cub needs his milk...

Hey, I wanted to be a pirate!

Okay. Pay attention, Nika. This is your eye...

And this is your ear!

Clowning Around at Bed Time

Julian gets a second wind around bed time.
A crazy, wild, everything-is-funny kind of
second wind.

Friends at the Zoo

Julian loves animals.
There were several goats at the petting zoo.
He had to pet each oneat least twice!
Dad, can we keep him?

Dad contemplated it as the goat is probably no
worse to clean up after than Julian.

Too Cool for School

(Don't tell him their women's glasses)

Li'l Green Bean

Comfy critters.

So what if I'm wearing my pj's. Do I look tired?

It's all fun and games until Dad's in traction!

Day at the Beach

Sometimes a man just has to put down his sippy cup
and contemplate just what it all means.
If you figure it out Son, let me know.

Family in Town for a Visit

Uncle Bob from Hawaii helps me sort out my Cheerios...
Grandma and Grandpa Z from NJ...

Working toward that baseball scholarship...

Portland Museum, August 2010

One of Julian's first words was 'fish'.
Although, it sounds a little bit more like 'iisshhh'.

If I stare at it long enough maybe it will make sense...
Julian also experienced his first bike ride!
He was a master at hiding his excitment.

Bunny was ready for more fun, but Julian needed a nap.

Bed Time for Bozos

Nice try. Go ahead. Exploit the cheesy-cutesy factor. It won't help you. You are still going to bed!

Mr. Style

Preppy to-the-max! This aint the 80's, mister. Don't worry, dad will have you growing out your hair and wearing a rock t-shirt in no time.

Healthy Appetite

For the most part Julian is a pretty good eater. He has taken to eating with adult spoons and forks. In fact, often he won't eat his food unless he can use a utensil. Of course, he still uses his hands to throw the food.

At the Playground

Julian loves to climb up things- steps, ladders, whatever gets him to higher ground. He has also taken to the slide.

Sometimes he needs a little help, though.

Running Through the Sprinkler

What is Julian's favorite thing to play with? Water!

Wash Cloth Tug of War!

Julian still loves taking a bath. We are planning on getting him into a swimming pool soon to see how he does. It's a safe bet he will love it.

Summer 2010

What do you mean I can't go outside like this?
I am wearing clothes. See the cape I've got on? If you will just open the door, I will show you how I can fly!

Hangin' with Nika

Nika is great with Julian and more patient than I would be if my paws were constantly being grabbed at. Julian is finally learning the art of petting the dog rather than pulling on her ears or treating her like a jungle gym. They follow each other around and are becoming great friends. (Sorry Mr. Monkey*)
*See posting from March 2009 for info on Mr. Monkey)

First Hair Cut

Julian was starting to look like an old man with a bad comb over. Time to get those golden locks trimmed up.

Hmm... Not too sure about this.
What are you planning to do with those, Gail?

It was a little traumatic...(or should I say dramatic?)

So many tears for such a small amount of hair!

Piece of cake. And I've still got more hair than dad!

One of These Things is Not Like the Others...

High-Five!

Julian has perfected the art of waving and high-fiving.
It's a good skill to have.

This is fun, right?

Learning to Climb

Julian has been trying to climb up things for the last couple of months. He loves climbing up on the couch and throwing the cushions off. Although, he still needs a bit of a boost to get up there.
